After breakfast you will leave the hotel to visit the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls, located within the National Park Iguazu. With an extension of 67,000 hectares the park has been declared a Natural Patrimony of Humanity by the UNESCO. The Falls are integrated by 275 waterfalls that fall from an average altitude of seventy metres. The starting point is the “Central Station”, from which visitors can choose to take the train that goes to “Falls Station” or the one that goes to “Devil’s Throat Station”. From these points it is possible to carry out diverse excursions.

The superior walk is a walk of 1750 metres on footbridges, elevated over the surface of the terrain so as not to obstruct or frighten the fauna. On this walk, visitors can observe the waterfalls from the upper part of the Two Sisters, Bosetti, Bernabé Méndez, M´Bigua falls, among others. It lasts for an hour and the range of difficulty is low, there are no stairs.

The inferior walk is a 1,600 metres walk on footbridges elevated over the surface of the terrain, where visitors can see the Dos Hermanas, Alvar Nuñez, San Martín, and Bosetti falls and the Rock de la Bella Vista. Visitors can also have a panoramic view of the Devil’s Throat and the Río Iguazú Inferior Canyon. This walk lasts for two hours and the range of difficulty is moderate, with stairs. Also, in this circuit (and with private services) a visit to the Isla San Martín and the “La Gran Aventura” excursion can be arranged. This activity is optional.

The excursion Devil’s Throat starts at the “Devil’s Throat Station” walking on the footbridges for about 1,200 metres which allows the visitor to enjoy the view of the most important waterfall of the Falls. The excursion lasts two hours, and the range of difficulty is low, there are no stairs. The return is by train up to the Visitors Center.

Once the excursion ends, return to the hotel. Lunch is not included in this visit. Entrance fee for the park is included.

    Day 3 PUERTO IGUAZU (B)

After breakfast, you will leave the hotel to visit the Brazilian side of the waterfalls. The National Park do Iguaçu is one of the biggest vegetation reserves in Brazil. When you arrive at the visitors’ centre you have the chance of taking a bus that will take you on a tour inside the park and then to the beginning of the footbridges located over the cliffs of the Iguazu River. The length of these footbridges extends to almost a kilometre. During the walk it is possible to get a panoramic view of the Isla San Martín and of the most majestic waterfalls: the Bossetti, the San Martín and the Three Musketeers. Towards the end of the walk is the view point, from which you can appreciate a unique view of the Devil’s Throat, which, at this point, is only about 150 metres away. This wonderful view is even more enhanced by the constant formation of rainbows. The itinerary ends next to the Salto Floriano waterfall where there is a small store and there is access to the panoramic elevator, which visitors can take if they wish to.

At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to the hotel to pick up your luggage and then continue to the airport to board your flight to your onward destination.

More on the place you will visit:

Iguazu Falls Region– the major landmark in the region is undoubtedly the magnificent Iguazu Waterfall, the world’s largest, formed by the Iguazu River which rises in Curitiba in the East and winds westward along 1,320 kms through Parana State. Fifteen kilometres before joining the Parana River, the Iguazu overcomes an abrupt uneven ground and then, amidst an exuberant forest, hurls itself into 275 falls that cascade over a u-shaped precipice 2,700 metres wide, from an average height of 60 metres. The waterfalls can be visited in both countries (Argentina and Brazil) and the view is superb, at any time of the year, from any of the countries. The Falls have been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.
